I’m actively wrestling with the role ai is playing in design currently, and the role that it could play in design in the future. I’ve got some concerns and some optimism, but no real answers. Either way, I’m still trying to learn what I can, and I’m enjoying seeing what is possible with image generation. In the spirit of the season, here some quick images I’ve made using ai prompts (grizzled, weathered Santa, for example) and a little hands-on touchups/editing. They’re not-quite-there-yet. Maybe they pass for a quick read, but when you look closer, the ai-ness is apparent.
